BIRTHING PARTNERS ARE SO IMPORTANT - YOU DO MATTER!

Learn Massage techniques & Comfort measures to support your partner during Labour & Birth

Being a birth partner is more than holding her hand and watching your baby being born. It’s about knowing when to step up and when to hold her space. Reaching your full potential as a birth partner is possible when you’re confident and prepared.

Birthing partners should be included BEFORE, DURING & AFTER birth - Your support person’s role during labour requires a sensitive, calming & nurturing touch with a focus on relaxation. Whether this is your partner, friend, family member, LMC or Doula, the labouring woman and the support person both feel the benefits.

Add in close intimate contact, which offers a wonderful guided support, it all heightens the awareness of the flow, waves and change through labour. Your labour team will all enjoy the connection to both the labouring woman and baby at this time; knowing they are on a journey to welcome a new little person into the world soon.

Research shows that having your partner or other support person with you in the delivery room can relieve anxiety as well as decreasing pain levels during labour. Partner massage & comfort holds during pregnancy and labour can improve relationships and bring couples closer together.

The ADDED BONUS means your partner will feel confident and relaxed with tools & knowledge they can access whenever they may need it. Giving them more control and ensuring they can help you feel more at ease in your labour and massage & touch is welcomed rather than intrusive.  Everyone leaves feeling excited and looking forward to this epic life event.

This workshop doesn’t replace childbirth education. Instead, it builds onto the knowledge base you already have and opens you up to the role of birth partner and its full potential.

You may not be ready yet - so let us help you prepare. Partners keen to take their support role to the next level ? then contact us for more information.

So, how does it work?

Massage during labour blocks the pain impulses from reaching the brain and releases endorphins – the body’s natural “pain-killer”.

With your birthing partner confident in being more hands on & present – you can feel less intense pain, increased relaxation and decreased feelings of anxiety during pregnancy AND labour!
